This is a great idea! I come out of lurkdom maybe once a year. My name is
Laurie LaFave, and I am owned by 5 ferrets, Chaos, a MF 4 1/2 year old MF
female albino who has survived stress induced diabetes (and is doing very
well, thank you), all my rescues, JD, a 4+? year old MF male sable,
Kelsey, a 1 year old female shetland sable, Ruckus, an almost 1 year old
deaf boy, silver blaze, panda mitt wanna be and finally Rocket, a ? year
old, dark eyed white, skinny boy.I cannot remember how long I have
subscribed to this list, but know I got here through a search on the
internet. I have been owned by ferrets for over 15 years.

I guess I am a rarity though, for I am a snowbird. I live and work in
Woodstock, NY from April - October and live and play in Titusville, FL from
November - March. Due to the number of ferrets that we now have, my hubby
and I now drive straight through when we make the biannual trek, 22 hours
in all. Oh, and the vehicle has gotten bigger the more ferrets that we
obtain, we went from a Pontiac Sunbird to a Pontiac Extended Montana
Minivan.

I am an active member of the Brevard Ferret Lover's Rescue in FL during
the time I am here, and when I am not, the shelter directors know that I
am here in spirit.

Speaking of the Rescue, all of you know that it is very overcrowded. Since
I do not think I can drive a tractor trailer to haul all my pets (which
means I cannot adopt anymore at the present moment), my hubby and I have
decided we are going to "try our hand" at making some pretty cute stuff,
and I have put them up on ebay,
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=211689332 and
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=211684920.
We will do this for the next few weeks. All proceeds will benefit the
rescue.

Thanks in advance BIG for letting me get the "plug" in.
Laurie, Chaos, JD, Kelsey, Ruckus & Rocket
