Well, we had Bailey switched from the Flagyl and Pepto to Biaxin and
Carafate.

And I think that was a mistake. Three days into her treatment with the
Flagyl and Pepto, she was starting to make the smallest improvements. She
would drink water on her own, she had stopped vomiting up the medicine and
she would eat up to 5 CC's of food without too much struggle.

Now, she will not eat, will not drink unless we take her to the sink,
vomits up all of her medicine again every time it's given and will not eat
even a 1 CC tube of food without a huge struggle and vomiting. And as an
added bonus, the Carafate has caused a lovely side effect of air in her
stomach. She burps and gurgles for hours on end. When she breathes in,
you can hear it. When she breathes out, you can hear it. I don't know how
she is sleeping with this, and I suspect she isn't, another problem. I'm
so glad I switched medicines!

We're now entering the 14th day of this with her, and unless things get
better in a day or so, we are going to put her down. I can't continue to
do this to her when I see every day she is not getting any better, showing
any signs of improvement.
