Cyndi,
I think you should have it examined by your vet right away.  About two
months ago I noticed redness in the roof of my girl's mouth and I brought
her to the vet.  She was first put on antibiotics for a week but it did
not help at all so my vet did a biopsy on the spot and it turned out to be
a squamous cell carcinoma.  It is fairly rare for ferrets to get, but it is
very aggressive so it is important to catch it early.  I was lucky that I
caught it and found a surgeon that was able to perform surgery to remove it
since it seems to have not spread to her throat.  I pray that this is not
the case with your little one, but I definitely think you should have it
looked at just in case it is something serious; it could save her life.
