Super Pet is also the same chain as PJ's Pet Centers. i would suggest
that people also boycot some of their stores, particularly Promenade, and
Scarborough Town Centre. however i worked for nearly 2 years at the
Yorkdale store and the Manager of the small animal dept. there, Kristi
Flemming is a real ferret friend. the ferrets have a multi story cage with
cloth bedding, newspaper pellet litter in the box changed twice daily,
and they get a whole lot of love. if any of you do decide to take action
against the SuperPet chain, please exclude Kristi at Pjs Pet Centre
Yorkdale from your criticism. and if you want to see a store that cares
for their ferrets, go and visit her. the store is undergoing renovations
right now, so the dept is in chaos, but the ferrets are still getting
quality care. don't be surprised if she won't let you handle the ferrets,
though. too many people ask her every day, and the poor dears would get
a lot of bad human experiences if everyone were allowed to hold them. i
know, i worked there.

on another note, Nutrience food is made by Hagen who have a supply contract
with Super Pet and PJs Pet centres stores. Hagen don't give a rats ass for
ferrets or any other animal, and they run several pet farms, so please go
ahead and boycott Nutrience food for that reason, but not because of Super
Pet. just an example; Hagen makes a water bottle called Cascade. the two
largest sizes have spring loaded ball bearings, which are too stiff for
ferrets to work. when informed of this, Hagens representative said that he
already knew, but the packaging will continue to reccommend the bottles for
ferrets.

allowed to sell pets.)
