I would just like all of you to know how sorry I am that so many of you
have been facing the loss of your companion, pet, and intelligent
affectionate being. I was especially torn up reading how Mary lost 15 of
her babies.
I have sent over 50 E-mails to those on this list who have lost their tiny
loved one. But I have only heard from maybe 3 people in all this time. I
never know if I sent it correctly or if it was received. I get my e-mail
downloaded off-line for some reason. So by the time I read my messages and
reply- I have to try to get back on-line again. The line is usually busy.
So I have given up writing individually for the most part.
Just wanted to let you all know that I cry reading every one of your
losses. This weather has been vicious in terms of animals, fish, and
people dying. It is deadly hot.
For those that perhaps are moving--I had a list of things I needed for the
ferrets when I moved and was lucky enough to find them all in my new home.
The electricity in my area goes down maybe 5 0r 6 times every summer. So I
was able to get a home with a generator. So far, the electricity flickers
off and the generator kicks in. I have no idea how difficult it is to find
this. It was fortunate I found everything I needed for the ferts here to
keep them as safe as possible.
Having said that---I left this morning to feed the fish, birds, and make
sure no birds were snared in fishing tackle. By the time I returned, two
of my neighbors were by my front door with what looked like-but could not
have been- a smallish brown animal. They were kind of tossing it back and
forth to one another as though afraid to hold it.
It was Chewy.
He must have escaped as I left for the lake. I don't even know who found
him. They told me what happened. I do not remember a word of their
conversation.
Again, my most sincere sorrow
Lisette
