When we bought our first ferret, Loki, I had no idea what dooking was. It
wasn't until a month later we bought Delilah that we found out. She never
shuts up. Loki still never dooks even when playing with us or her - he's
not deaf and although I was suspicious for a while, he's not mute either.

i.e. I guess dooking has to do with the personality of your ferret. It's
normal for some and not normal for others.

My $.02
