Hello everyone. My prayers go out to those who have sick or have lost
their fuzzies.
I work part time at our local Petco and our store recently re-opened and
now sells ferrets. I went in last night and we have four kits for sale.
The problem is, no one who works at the store handles them (I have been out
since January on a personal hiatus) and they are biters! A little silver
mitt bit the crap out of my hand last night until I was bleeding, and if
that wasn't enough, tried to go for my face. I know they need to be
handled and played with to make them suitable for someone else to hold,
because no one but a knowledgeable ferret owner (and from what I've seen in
this town, there aren't many) is going to buy a kit that bites. Are there
any ways that I can cure these little guys of their biting? I'm planning
of spening a few hours a week (on and off the clock) handling and playing
with them so they're used to people, but I am wondering if there is
anything else that I can do for them.
Please feel free to email me with any suggestions. I have three ferrets,
but none of them were kits when I got them.
Thanks everybody!
