leaving ferrets

Yesterday, someone said that ferrets should never be left alone for ten
hours without being checked on. If that were true, then no one with a job
could safely own a ferret. My ferrets seem perfectly content to stay in
their cages while I am at work. In fact, I think they sleep most of the
time. When I get home, we have a happy reunion, and they get a chance to
run around and play, usually until it's time to go to bed. I believe that,
barring some bizarre, unpredictable accident, my ferrets are not only safe,
but happy. I don't think we are bad ferret owners if we leave them alone
to go to work.
