Found in the Tempe, AZ area. An adorable fuzzie that is looking for
their home.

Although we wish we could describe this little fuzz-butt in more detail, we
need for the rightful parents to be able to identify it as their own. The
ferret was found yesterday 08/21/99 near an apartment building in Tempe.
If you think this little cutie is yours or know someone that is looking for
their lost ferret, please have them give us a call at: (602)547-0031. We
would really like to see that this one gets back to it's home. It looks
fairly well taken care of and we're sure that someone is missing him a
great deal.

On another note. I'm sure that we're not alone in this and that the other
shelters throughout the country have been experiencing the same problem.
During the summer months we have taken in a rather large number (for us) of
ferrets in need of new homes. Many of these have been lost, some have been
sent to us because the owners felt they could no longer take care of them
and still others have been sent our way from our local Humane Society. It
seems that during the summer as many folks go on vacation, move to new
apartments or now realize that the ferret they bought during Christmas is
more work then they thought, that the numbers of fuzzies needing new homes
is quickly outgrowing the numbers of families looking for new pets.

Please! Help support your local shelters... In many cases these are folks
that are volunteering their time and money to help care for ferrets that
would otherwise be unwanted by anyone. The hours are long, the pay is poor
and it can be a very heartbreaking job. For every ferret that is young and
healthy and finds a home pretty quickly, there are still others that are
older, are sick and in need of medical attention or even surgery. If you
can find it in your heart to help give one of these adorable fuzzies a new
home or even to volunteer a few hours a week to a local shelter, please do
so! Every little bit helps. You can't imagine how heartwarming it is to
be able to take in an older ferret, care for it, and to give it the best
life possible in it's remaining time. These little guys need our help.

Enough of my soapbox for now.....
