Reet--

I, too, find my park walks with one of my ferrets, Duncan McFerret, to be
half-fun for us, half-educational for people not familiar with ferrets. I
get a sense of accomplishment, knowing we dispelled some bad rumors about
ferrets when we come home. Duncan just loves going out and gets all
excited when I get out his harness. He forces me to run to keep up with
him! :) Even though it is not required in the county I live in, I still
have a rabies tag attached to Duncan's harness, though I'm more likely to
bite somebody than Duncan is! He is sooo good with people; I do make sure
to present him to people back end first and keep inquiring hands away from
his face, just to be safe. I feel we are representing ferrets when we are
out there...though I do get tired of hearing "Will he bite?" as people
reach for him.
