Hey Everyone,
I have a suggestion on keeping your little ones cool. We have a swamp
cooler located in the center of our house. It works very well...if we
spent all of our time in the kitchen!
Anyway, I found that if you put a box fan in the room that you keep your
ferrets in, you can keep it cool. Make sure all other windows are closed
in the house or apartment. What you have to do is place the fan in the
ferret room window blowing out. It sucks the air out of the room and in
turn draws the cool air from the cooling unit into the room. This works
very well for us. Unfortunately some of the other bedrooms get a little
warm, oh well...the ferrets are happy! This works for AC and the heater
too.
Also, anytime during the year, you can do this even when you have just the
windows open for air. It constantly keeps fresh air circulating into the
ferret room. There is virtually no ferrety smell in the room.
Thought I'd share this with you guys! This works great for shelters too.
