My personal belief is that the fat of the bacon is no problem, if you give
it in small amounts as a treat (I've done it on occation).  What I don't
really like about bacon (or some ham or sausage or the like) is the salt
level!  I am hardly worried at all when it comes to things like raw meat
or bone, but I try to be VERY restricted when it comes to salt, spices and
sugar!
 
Just my opinion. :)
