I need some advise, so if anyone can help me, please help! I have a very
sick ferret. About 2 weeks ago, I bought a baby ferret and a few days
later, my 2 other ferrets ( 1 and 2 years old ) started getting diarrhea
and lost their appetite. I took them to the vet and she diagnosed them as
having gastroentitus and green slime virus (?) and prescribed Metronidazole
Benz. and Amoxicillin. So I gave it to them, and my one year old got
better and my 2 year old got a little better for a few days then has been
on a steady downward spiral ever since. She's lost 1/3 of her body weight,
has absolutely no appetite...she sometimes goes to the food dish and sniffs
around, but then shakes her head and lays down. She has either very slimy
green diarrhea, or green grainy diarrhea. I've called the vet several
times and voiced my concerns about what she may have and she sticks to it.
I have to force feed her water and nutri-cal. She's so weak and I don't
know what to do. I can't afford to keep taking her to the vet when all she
does is inject her with some water and sends me on my way. If anyone might
have any idea about what she might have or what I should do PLEASE e-mail
me ASAP [log in to unmask] I'm considering having he put to sleep because
I can't stand the thought of her suffering.

Thanks-----------Lisa
