Okay, I'll bite!!  I'll pass on the history of our ferrets' names.
 
Ren got his name because he was Stimpy's pal.  (Stimpy succumbed to
cardiomyopathy in '96.)
 
Axel was named after the pet wolverine in the Fusco Brothers comic strip,
because Axel's dad was the biggest ferret we had ever seen.  (Not quite as
big as a wolverine.) Besides, Axel (the comic character) was very sarcastic
and the smartest character of the bunch.
 
Claudia was named after the little girl vampire in "The Vampire Chronicles"
because the first day we brought her home, she chomped my husband's nose
hard enough to draw blood.  She continued to be a blood-sucker for quite
some time.  Now, she only does it when you least expect it.
 
My husband named Stella for the scientific name Mustella.  I gave her the
middle name Rosalita, because she loves to jump.  (Think Springsteen song.)
