>Does anyone know whether prairie dogs and woozles get along?

Hi Eve

I have only been exposed to one Prairie dog and that was only for 3 days,
so my experience, to say the least, is probably skewed. Elvis the PD, came
into the shelter living in the same cage with 4 ferts - all happily
co-existing together. Divorce was the cause. We were able to adopt out
Elvis and 2 of the ferrets to the same family, as from what I read, PDs
bond very early to members of their "dog town" and its extremely traumatic
to separate. In my opinion, PDs are terrible pets - they chew everything -
Elvis also happened to be in rut, so he bit frequently and reeked of musk -
stunk worse than a hob in rut and was slimier, too - he looked like a
waddling queen anne's table, with 4 ferrets chasing behind. They also need
to dig - Elvis came with a large rubbermaid container full of dirt for him
to dig in.

I can't say whether or not they all got along because of the social nature
of all animals, or if age (all the ferts and the PD were about the same age
and intro'd to each other as young adults or babies) played a role. YMMV.
