Help! I thought I had this place pretty much ferret-proofed, but that
was with two males weighing in at 2 1/4 and 3 lbs. Bring in two petite
females, and I have to start all over!!! I have cabinet latches on every
cabinet, but my 2 1/4 lb male recently discovered he could get inside the
cabinet anyway. Any suggestions for cupboard doors? The cupboards in
the kitchen would be a real problem if any of the ferrets got inside: the
bottom shelf is not finished (it stops where the drawers begin), and the
ferrets could get into the space between the shelf and the floor. I live
in a mobile home, so no telling if there are any openings to the outdoors
under the shelf. Another problem area is the opening under the dryer. Is
there anything inside the bottom of the dryer that would be a problem? Any
openings to forbidden areas? PLEASE answer if you have any solutions to
these problems.

I've already decided it's hopeless to protect the carpet--it's already too
late for several areas (at doorways, edges of furniture). Bitter apple
doesn't help. When the time comes to replace the carpet, I'm getting vinyl
flooring! And I'll be ferretproofing the sofa and chair (both complete
w/recliners) soon by getting a futon! (don't worry, the ferrets can't
get inside the furniture.....nor can the humans use the recliners: the
furniture is completely encased in sheets!!)

Has life changed much since ferrets came into my life?? Nah....
