Hi & Dooka-dook to all the woozles  !
 
Writing in response to the FML Post about Woozle / Cat friendship.  In the
past year, I have "cat-sat" my friend Kellys adult cat several times, from
days to months.
 
You may notice my signature includes our friend "Kimo the Sumo Cat".  Kimo
became a Woozle That Wasn't, But Was.  Kimo weighed 15lbs and basically
terrorized the 2 miniature Pinschers (5lbs, 8lbs) that shared our apartment.
Kimo mostly stayed in my room, along with the ferts.  In the beginning Kimo
remained inside a large carrier.  His choice !  He couldn't handle the
hyper-active Flurry (my phrase again, haven't used it in a while) :) .
 
It took time, but he got used to the group. Well, actually, there were
several times when my kids chased him out of the carrier and took it
over :).  Yeah, it took time, and close supervison, but Kimo became the
ferts best friend.  He would run with them, play "sheet shark" with them,
share their "Fuzzy Soup", beg for raisins and fuzzy treats, you name it.
One time he chased one of the kids to the bubble tube, only to get his
head stuck trying to get in.
 
Many a night Kimo would lay down and have the group curl up all over him.
One night I caught him grooming Lacy, the Grand Dame of the group.  Couldn't
tell you how many nights I put the kids in their cage and he meowed and
whined cause he couldn't sleep with them.
 
Mind you, this was a full grown cat, much larger then the kids.  Yet he was
very gentle with them.  It just took time.  Imagine it could be much better
if they were growing up together.  He had only met one fert before coming
here (Furrice), and that was close to 2 years ago at Kimos home.
 
Come to think of it ... I recall Furrice chased him from his cage at that
time, too.
