hello,
nose thumping is NEVER reccomended..in older books it is..but it can be
physicaly damaging to a ferret and also make a ferret scared/fearful and/or
agressive...would you thump your child on the nose???  why should it be
any different for an animal???  have animals become so beneath us, that
as humans we cannot simple scruff them???  after all the ferret moms dont
thump their babies...so why should we???
