Hello All,
I've been reading email posted to the Ferret List for some time, and
enjoying most of it. Thankfully, I've never had a need to ask questions.
My three little girls were doing just great until this last Christmas when
I noticed my one little girl, Hailey, was losing the hair on her back. I
was only gone two weeks over the holidays, but on my return, I was
surprised to find Hailey lost most of her hair on her back in that short
time frame. So, I took Hailey to my vet only to be told that there was
not much she could do. Hailey had cancer. Since Hailey was seven years
old, the vet did not want to operate. She gave me some Lysodren for her
and told me to just make her comfortable. Since Hailey did not appear to
be in any pain, nor was she suffering, that's about all I could do for her.
Well, Hailey finally crossed over that Rainbow Bridge last night. While I
feel sad that I lost my little friend, I also feel relief. You see, she
was nothing but skin and bones at the end. Some times I could not figure
out what kept her together. But, she always managed to make her way over
to the boys (cats) food and water dishes, where she wood eat a little and
then play in the water. Last night, when she didn't come out of her cage,
I knew something was wrong. I just didn't realize how wrong until I
touched her. I guess what I'm trying to say here is - give your little
buddies all the love you can because they are not with us that long. When
you think about it, seven years is a very short time.

Thank you
Glenn
