I know exactly how you feel about losing Gizmo, because that happened to
me also.  I lost my Toby because the local vets were not educated about
ferrets and their health problems.  But instead of taking it out on them, I
decided to get off my butt and go to vet school myself and learn and maybe
educate the school as to how popular our babies really are.  I don't know
if I can make that much of a difference, but at least I'll know I tried to
do something.  I never want to feel helpless that way again and by becoming
a vet myself, it may alleviate some of that pain and a whole lot of
ignorance on my part also.
