After reading a few recent FMLs containing posts about cages, I wanted to
pass along some info to everyone on how to get a great cage at a great
price.

A year or so ago I got a freelance job to do a website for a cage
manufacturer. I was pleased to do it because the company makes ferret
cages in addition to cages for just about every other pet imaginable.
Plus, I'd seen the cage designer at some ferret shows and his work was
pretty impressive.

As payment for the site I was given some cages for the shelter and a huge
one for my personal ferrets. I figured the deal was a good one! Little
did I know that I was in for quite a treat -- the cages are fantastic, the
family that runs the business are the nicest people, and the prices are
excellent.

The company is Martin's Cages in Lancaster, PA. They ship *everywhere* --
US and international. They make a lot of styles of ferret (and other pet)
cages and travel cages, plus, if you don't see what you like, just tell
Skip Martin what you want and he'll do it. You can have your cage in
galvanized wire or PVC coated and the very best part is that most of his
pans are plastic pans -- never have I had an easier time cleaning these
cages. Even the worst ferrets are no match for this, these pans just wipe
clean and don't stain. (He also sells just pans if you want to replace
your old metal one -- he has several sizes available).

Shelters -- Skip is coming out with a line of shelter cages with "units"
that are great. He designed awesome shelter units for me, they're
terrific. He can do whatever you want!

Just a note-- please don't think I have any stake in recommending
Martin's... I don't get any kickback or anything like that! I was just
reading the problems that people were having with some cages and others
that were looking for a good cage, and I just believe in his work and want
to help others out that may be in need of a good cage.
