Warning: this story is kind of icky, but I figure most of us are okay with
scatalogical ferrety functions.

Dervish isn't a very cuddly ferret. Only on rare occasions will she let me
hold her, and even then it helps if I get her while she's asleep.
Yesterday was one of those "bad news days", the sort of days when you find
yourself pouring a drink at 11:00 in the morning. I'd had a lot of bad
stuff happen (my car needs a new engine which I can't afford, my father
lost his job, and lots of ugly family stuff went down), and I was in dire
need of some ferret therapy.

I had Dervish with me, and she was sort of half-asleep and snuggled against
my torso. I was sort of talking to her (hey, everyone talks to their pets!
I'm not abnormal! honest!), and scratching her back. She was more relaxed
than I've ever seen her ... probably a little bit *too* relaxed, because I
felt a warm, damp sensation on my stomach. After a few seconds, I realized
that I my comfy little bugger had let herself go right on my shirt.
Ewwwwwwwww. And all she did was scootch up a little bit so her rear wasn't
in the wet spot.

I, of course, got up and did laundry.

(Derv shows no signs of incontinence or anything, just an incredible lack
of timing. I think it's sort of tantamount to ferts letting loose in the
bathwater ... they're warm and happy and comfy, and just relax a bit too
much. Either that, or --- and this is what I suspect --- she knew exactly
what she was doing and just wanted to get a good ferrety laugh out of the
situation.)

Moral of the story: be careful when your pour your heart out to a ferret,
because it might pour something entirely different out on YOU.

thing in swimming pools!")
