With regard to cage flooring.  Our shelter cages have "peel-and-stick"
floor tile stuck over the wire.  For many cages we cut thin plywood to fit
the floor, placed this over the wire, and then stuck the tile over it.
This is a cheap and handy way to keep things safe and clean.  Note: the
shiny stuff works best for cleaning but is stippery for older ferrets.
