Just thought that we would tell the world that Josie has just come round
from major surgery. Josie is a six year old jill who has been suffering
from hair loss for some weeks particularly on her head, back and base of
tail. The vet initially thought it was a hormone problem and gave her a
hormone injection. The hair loss continued, she became very lethargic,
drank a lot and put on weight, her skin also became almost transparent. On
Monday (1 March) we took her to the vet who took two x-rays and decided to
carry out surgery. This took place on Wednesday when he removed a very
large lump which was 4cm in diameter from her left ovary. He also splayed
her and has sent the lump away for analysis. Josie took a while to come
around from surgery but we were allowed to bring her home that evening.
She was very drowsy but still managed to give us a kiss. I then wrapped
her up and she spent the evening on my lap sat by a radiator. Although
only a few hours earlier she had had major surgery, while she was asleep on
my lap I started to eat some chocolate and it was not long before her nose
started to twitch!!!!!!! I took her back to the vet today for a 24 hour
check up and the vet was absolutely delighted with her progress and was
amazed at how well she has done. We will keep you informed of her progress
and let you know the results of the tests on the lump.
