On Tuesday, March 30, 1999, James Arthur Melton pleaded GUILTY at Norfolk
County Superior Court, Dedham, Mass in the Brookline Ferret Murder Case.

Melton will serve 7 years and 1 day at Cedar Junction Prison, Walpole, MA.

Because Melton was on parole at the time of the crime, he will be serving
out that sentence and this one concurrently.

For those of you who are not updated on this case here is a run down of
what happened.

Last fall Melton was accused of breaking and entering a home in Brookline
Massachusetts. While he was there he viciously murdered the owners two pet
ferrets. Because of the nature of the crime and also because he was on
parole at the time, Melton has been held in custody since his arrest.
