I think I was the one who said I got a futon to replace my couch because
of my fuzzies destroying it. I got a nice futon from a company here in
Pittsburgh. It's made of oak and has a neato mechanism for making it
flat and making it back into a couch. Since I got it, the ferrets have
not done anything to it, and it has the advantage that it's up off the
floor about 5", making it much easier to find the little guys who run
behind it. :) This futon is not one of the "on the floor" models, but I
don't think a ferret could do much to one of those, either. They haven't
dug or chewed on it at all (thank heavens!).
If you'd like a futon and you want to replace the couch anyway, I'd
definitely recommend it. It's been very useful when out-of-town guests
stop by, and it's quite comfortable as a livingroom couch.
