RE: Ferret Shaved Tail-When will it grow back?
When ferrets are shaved for surgery, the fur will grow back, but you
must wait for the next normal coat change. This can be perplexing, as
if it has recently shed a coat, it may be MONTHS for the fur to grow
back!!! Be patient, as ferrets normally change coat only TWICE a year!
You will one day begin seeing 'fuzz' showing, indicating the ferret is
beginning to coat change. In having ours spayed, some will beging to
'fuzz' in a few weeks, others months. After the next coat change, there
is no indication there was ever a bare spot. PATIENCE!!
Respectfully, Paul in MI (seeking to adopt an unwanted fuzzy, and a
female companion in Wayne County!!) and the fabulous six.
