Please help with the following problem:
Spanky Pipan is a six month old female/spayed, two ink tattoos in her right
ear ferret.
Complaint: 7-3-99 Lethargic, anorexic. Gums very pale. BC- within
normal limits
CBC: HCT-8.8%
Hgb-3.2g/dL
WBC-6.4x10 9/L
PLT-743x10 9/L
Reticulocyte-.2%
Assess: Nonregenerative anemia
Bone marrow: Diffuse, severe, pancytopenia ( I may have misspelled this
last word. Trouble reading vets writing)
Diagnosis: Aplastic anemia. 1) Inherited OR
2) Acquired: viral/bacterial, drugs,
auto-immune, estrogen toxicity
Exploratory surgery revealed ovarian remnant on the right side and was
removed.
Spanky had had multiple blood transfusions, 1 before surgery and three
or four after, at the rate of 1/week.
Present meds: Winstrol .5mg PO BID
7-28-99 CBC: HCT-12%
Mgb-4.4g/dL
WBC-3.1x10 9/L
PLT-459x10 9/L Whole blood transfusion 10ml IO
Instituted Clavamox .25ml PO BID
She is feeding her a combination of her kibble, pulverized with Nutrical,
boiled and mashed chicken liver, broth from ckn liver, human chicken baby
food and a little ferretone.
HELP!! Please! Mary is a college student and she is running out of money
