I am posting on behalf of the shelter kids at FerretWise. They just
recieved a 30# bag iof TF and siome ferretone for the holidays! and also
a holiday card with a $2 donatioin form the Dollar fund (FML/SOS).
This is a wonderful and welcome gift-- and we have 2 new furry faces today
to share it with. Bandit is awaiting adoiption adn is with her potential
new mom-- doctors orders-- you see she is only 1 year old and never was
gioven hairbnall rememdy- for 3 months we have tried oils, laxatives,
PETROMALT-- STILL HER STOOLS -- THOUGH IMPROVED WERE NOT what they should
be. In all good conscience shelter Mom-- took her in-- a barium x-ray
shows a hairmass that is inthe stomach and partially in the intestinal
tract. So-- Bandit-- before she can be placed wiol nbeed surgery-- to
ensure a long and happy life with a mom who wants to do it all right for
her. The move prior to surgery was so she will recover with her intended
mom and lessen the stress-- we are in contact wiuth her-- and unless the
health is compromised Bandit will have a holiday wityh her new mom with
surgery following ion Jan 11th.
So for those who think adoption fees aren't necessary please let me remind
you -- Bandit's adoption fee will in no way cvover the x-ray never mind the
surgery-- and this is the THIRD hairball surgery which was mandatiory for
the survial of the ferret THIS YEAR! at Ferret Wise.. Casper at age 2
needed one-- he was on deaths door-- McKenzie neede his and is recovering
well--
Shelters have a burden and a responsibilty-- we take our hats off to you
ferret caretakers who try to do the vbest by your pet...
Please this year have Santa Paws bring a tube of laxatone or similar
hairball remedy to your kids! We will thank you adn so will they!
Hugs and happy holidays----
