Hi folks.
I just wanted to vent a little. I just, as of 1 hour ago, lost Kyland.
This, after losing Missy only 3 weeks ago.
It started about 4 weeks ago. During their out of cage play-time, I
noticed that Missy was very lethargic. I took her to the vet the next day
and he kept her for a few days. Without going into details here ( I suck
at medical terminology ), she improved a little so he realeased her. We
were giving her anti-biotics and having to force feed her. That lasted
about a week or so until that dreadful day. I got her out of her cage to
feed her after I got home from work. She clearly didn't want to eat. I
could not get her mouth open for anything. I kept trying and after about
an hour, I gave up. I knew that she wasn't going to make it. So, I laid
her down and sat next to her. She eventually took her last breath while I
was petting her. That's the first time I watched an animal die. Let me
tell you that it's really hard. She was approx. 4 years old.
Last week I noticed Kyland was not able to pass anything. He would try and
try but nothing would come out. This is why I'm really pissed at myself.
I gave him some petromalt and ignored it. Well, yesterday, he was
extremely lethargic and I took him to the vet this morning. He was pretty
rough. During treatment, he passed on. He was approx. 6 years old.
*sigh*
I still have nine ferrrets. As they are getting older, I supposed this is
going to happen even more.
Oh, well, thanks for your ears (er, eyes).
-Roger
