Ok...i sat quietly long enough

This issue about not placing ferrets in homes with children is just plain
crazy. Each person is different, and one can not draw assumptions that
every home with young children is bad. Ed L. I don't know why you make
such statements??? If you are looking for reactions and conflict, well
you got it.

16 yrs ago my then 3 yr old son got his first Ferret named Bandit.
According to some people I should of not owned any fuzzies. Well sorry,
but we have had ferrets since he was just a cpl of month old. I am sure
almost all of us know someone, who should of never had a human child, much
less a fur child. Yes there are many bad homes all around the world, but
this does not make each and every home bad. Lets not forget this.
Shelters are here to help find homes for fuzzies. Yes sometimes we don't
adopt to a family for whatever reasons. I spent last sunday talking
someone out of getting a ferret, as I didn't believe they would be a good
home for a fuzzie. No clue about ferrets, except oh how cute they are.
Not everyone is willing to spend the time needed for fuzzies, and also can
afford the medical bills associated with many of the fur kids.

The week prior I tried to help one cpl who lost one due to ingnorance. Who
could not afford to take their baby to a vet. their excuse....we are on
welfare. I tried to help and even sent duck soup and Nutri-stat with them
and no i didn't charge them anything. They didn't know anything about the
needs of ferrets, diet, excercise etc....so i gave them a crash course. I
hope they took it to heart for their other fuzzie. BTW this cpl had no
human kids..and I am very thankfull for that part.

All I am trying to say..is give each and every person the benefit of the
doubt before you go in with an attitude of no way jose....You never know
if you just turned down the best home possible for one of your fur kids.

hugs to the fuzzies
