Well, we had one and got two and found they were happier together.  Then we
got three.  She was smaller then the other's, but after a month she is now
in their cage.  Each one licks and nbbles each other ears and is so cute.
Ferret's r different then many pets and I think two is happier then one.
Three hours or free runs sounds fine to me.  Ferrets sleep alot.
