If anyone in the Houston area might be able to help this person (if it's
not too late) get this ferret to a shelter, please email her asap. Her
email address is [log in to unmask] Kelly ([log in to unmask]) has
*talked* to her and is trying to help, and I'll be gone all day Saturday so
if you have any questions you can also talk to Kelly. Kelly was not able
to get her phone number.
We have emailed the person shelter phone numbers and have tried to convince
her via email and Instant Message (Kelly has) to bring the ferret inside
for the night until she can locate help. None of the shelters were in the
Houston area, however.
This was her post on the aol Ferret Rescue and Adoption board:
From [log in to unmask]
>My next door neighbor has the unfortunate habit of getting pets he does
>not want. Lastest on his list was an albino ferret (female). He said
>the animal's nails were too long and scratched him when it crawled on his
>granddaughter. (What did the idiot expect? :( ) Anyway. I came home to
>find the ferret underneath my porch. He's thrown the animal out. We've
>talked to him but he won't take it back and we have 14 cats living (inside
>and only inside) our house. That's 14 cats and 1 poor dog.
>
>I'm hoping someone can tell me about a rescue society for ferrets in or
>around the Houston, Texas area. I've fed the ferret some cat food on my
>porch and gave it water. That's all I know to do. If you have
>information, please e-mail or post your response. I don't want this
>animal to be killed by one of the neighborhood cats or dogs. Thank you.
