Greetings all!
I hope I can make it through this whole post, since Chumba is our first
fert to discover how to get up onto the computer desk, and part of her path
includes the keyboard. Just minutes ago I was trying to move things out of
her path, like the ferrotone nippy bottle, my diet pepsi, the bag of crispy
M&Ms, and I was putting them all on the end table next to my desk....while
I'm trying to assess exactly what it was she pushed over the back of the
desk, Dessie is investigating all the things I put on the end table! This
of course was mere moments after I had pulled him from my bag full of
Christmas stocking making supplies....yes, I know, I'm late with them,
didn't get a one finished before Christmas....<sigh>

Despite the lack of stockings, we had a very wonderful Christmas. The kids
got a new hammock with a pocket, so they can sleep in or on. And we got a
polar fleece ball (it was exciting for about 1 minute), cheweezels, and
more ferrotone. And of course, all those great boxes, tissue paper, and
bags to go through (that IS why Santee Paws brought them, isn't it??)

Sequoia, the newest addition to make our duo a trio, is just the sweetest
heart you ever could meet. In fact, she just came to me for kisses for the
first time, ever! She is unfortunately going into heat again, earlier than
we'd hoped for. The vet we'd like to take her to is booked up until the
12th of January for spays, with the help of our great friend and ferret
resource, Scarlett, we're going to use what she refers to as her 'dud-stud'
(v-hob) to get her back out, and hopefully make it to the 12th for surgery.
If it doesn't work out, then of course, we'll have to go to another vet
earlier, we wouldn't risk her life over it, but my much more knowledgeable
friends assure me that we have time before she's in danger. I have been
finding myself forever grateful for the fact that I got involved with the
ferret community here in Columbus, through our club, the shelter, and
breeders. The amount of support, info, and assurances I get are so
wonderful for a anxious ferret mom. I suggest getting involved with these
things in your area if at all possible, because every bit I give, I get
back multiplied. Just one more thing, as I finish this book (sorry). We
seem to have some more vegetarian wanna-be's. We offered turkey neck, and
they sniffed it, and walked right over the bowl of cat food nearby. We
offered cooked turkey, and found that the plate was great fun, but not the
turkey. But they never turn down fruits, vegetables, and cereal!

Sherry and her 3 happy, bouncy, bundles of joy (and aggrevation ;)
