the results of Niblet's surgery are:
>The mass on her spleen was about the size of a golf ball. The entire
>spleen was removed. The report on it came back as "splenic haematoma
>with extra-medullar(sp?) hematopoesis", roughly translated:
>
>splenic haematoma: a big blood-filled blister or bruise on the spleen
>extra-medullar hematopoesis: production of blood cells somewhere
> outside of the bone marrow
>If it had ruptured, she most likely would have died from internal
>bleeding.
>
>The right adrenal gland was removed, showed no evidence of cancer. The
>abnormal tissue was cystic and had spread from the liver.
>
>A number of cysts were found in the liver. A part of one liver lobe was
>removed along with the largest cyst. The report on it came back as "cystic
>biliary hyperplasia", non-cancerous fluid-filled cysts in the bile ducts of
>the liver. They are an accumulation of toxins or waste products from food
>processing, and in ferrets are highly correlated with poor diet - i.e. cat
>food, even premium brand cat foods.
The good news is she is eating and drinking on her own (TF kibble!) and she
is already chasing the cats. she is a 7 year old MF
