DOMESTICATION - For those of you still debating the domestication thing, I
thought you might find this interesting. It came from a friend who sent me
one of those "50 Facts I Bet You Never Knew" lists. He doesn't know where
it originated so I guess there's no way of verifying it. But I was kind of
amused..
>13. In the last 4000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.
I think people just go through encyclopedia-type books to find this stuff
(one was that February 1965 was the only month in recorded history without
a full moon -- to be untrue this month. There will be no new moon this
February.) Anyway, sorry to digress.
I only glanced over the ferret domestication arguments a few days back, so
I don't know what the final concensus was.
GIZMO - Also, thanks to those who have responded so far about Gizmo. I'll
write you personally too after tonite. Giz is going to the vet to get
checked. Sheesh, after a lymphoma scare in October & a vet visit then,
you'd think we'd be OK for a little while. I guess Giz must like those
cold hard tables. :-) Wish us luck!
Aileen & the worried herd
