Most are whole breeding ferrets.  Although most hobs are their largest at
somewhere around 7 months before their first rut.  Some angoras though
apparently get quite large despite a rather young castration.

We have a lot of fine friends that are veterinarians that treat ferrets
but we consider Dr. Kawasaki our first choice most of the time for
surgical things.  We used to be fortunate enough to live a mere minutes
from his office.  Now its a couple hours <pout>.  One of our daughters had
to 'shadow' a professional one day as a school assignment.  She chose Dr.
K.  Our daughter was even in on some ferret spays (as an observer).
 
We don't know how he can afford to stay in business sometimes.  His prices
do tend to be lower than anyone else's.  And he cuts shelters a LOT of
slack...
 
Dr. Kawasaki is considered by many among the pre-eminent ferret surgeons.
He is often called upon to speak at veterinary conferences specifically on
ferret surgery.
 
Highly recommended!  You can always call to confirm an approximate price.
As with all medical procedures unforeseen complications can affect price.
 
We aren't knocking other vets that we don't know.  Nor intentionally
others that we do.
