Sugar Gliders:
They are marsupials, in the possum family, more the size of a flying
squarrel (sp) than a mouse. Ideal pocket pet as their eyes are sensitive
to light so you can carry them in your pocket in the daytime.

Pet Sitters:
I also do pet sitting plus I board ferrets. Someone mentioned earlier that
when looking for a pet sitter, make sure they are bonded & insured.
Bonding & insured does not mean they are a good pet sitter. Bonded means
the owner of the business has a security bond. If a pet sitter's employee
steals something from a clients home, in order for the bond to work the
thief must be caught & convicted. Once they are, the bonding company pays
off the client and then goes after the employer for the money. Yes, it
covers the client to some degree BUT only if the pet sitting company has
employees. A small pet sitting company with no employees does not need to
be bonded. As for insurance, most insurance companies that insure pet
sitters ask for the whole payment up front, which is costly to a new
business, so many, including myself, elect not to carry insurance. Is it a
good policy to carry insurance? You bet! But is it a mark of a good
petsitter? No way. I know of a petsitter who is both bonded & insured. A
friend of mine who lives a bit far for me to pet sit asked this sitter to
sit her 5 ferrets. The sitter was afraid of them and just opened the door
and threw in the food. When my friend came home all her ferrets had
diarrea. The next year I boarded them. They were all fine when she
collected them.

I also want to introduce my two newbies. They are Jake & Elwood. They are
both sables. Jake is about 5 and HUGE! Elwood's name when I got him was
Oisen (sp), a Gaelic name but since we couldn't pronounce his name properly
and the other guy's name was Jake we only found it fitting to call him
Elwood. Their owner had to move into an apartment with a roommate that
couldn't stand ferrets. I can't imagine anyone not being able to stand
ferrets. You could tell this girl really loved her ferts and hated to give
them up. After she said her goodbyes she ran out of the house crying.
