Dr. Weiss & adrenals

Haven't posted in a while, but to give you an update, my oldest ferret
Sidney (he was 7 in Jan.) just went in for insulinoma surgery and while Dr.
Weiss was in there, he did a bilateral adrenalectomy. Because he couldn't
remove the entire right gland, he has put Sidney on -- of all things --
melatonin. Apparently he told me he's been having success with this in
other ferrets, but right now it's still pretty experimental.

Keep an eye out too for People magazine -- not only was he on Channel 9,
but People interviewed him as well. I don't know any more than that.

And by the way, we couldn't recommend a higher vet in the universe than
Charlie -- he's just fabulous with the fuzzies! Anyway, I thought I'd let
you all know that the drug Sid was put on was the same stuff people use to
help them sleep. Weird, ain't it?

Amy, Dave & Sarah (and their gaggle of giggling ferrets)
RIP Ian, Elektra and Claudia
