In the wake of Christmas
With the tree still glowing bright
Loki slept, exhausted
It had been a long, long night!
 
Garnets paws twitched in her sleep
As she chased her Christmas ball
Farra followed suit nearby,
Her back pressed against the wall.
 
Gino's head draped on the floor
His body limp in the hammock
He'd been busy all the night before,
Happily creating havoc!
 
All was quiet in the house except...
This is utterly absurd!
They all should be asleep right now,
But digging can be heard!!
 
Snow's at the door and digging hard,
Nose pressed against the bar.
Paws flying in their attempt to get
The treat dropped from in it's jar.
 
The raisin sat quite teasingly
Only inches from the door
A little far for a paw to reach
Enough to make his temper soar!
 
That pink nose quested another time,
The scent of raisin near
The paws still so he could climb
And test the way was clear.
 
The door had moved just a tad
Enough for that nose to fit
Snow pushed and heaved to get his way
And was squished just a bit
 
Snow knew he'd reach that raisin yet!
It wasn't that far to scout
He squirmed some more and then
Hooray! He'd wriggled his way out!
 
That raisin was gone in a flash
The room was still and quiet
The tree stood blinking nearby
Snow knew he had to fry it!!
 
In three bounds he was at a branch
And leapt up high to grab it.
Using all his strength he leapt and missed
Just two inches more he'd have it!!
 
He scuttled to the tree itself,
Heaving up the forbidden trunk
The tree began to sway as Snow
Realised he was sunk.
 
No climber he to get up there,
Way to the final branches
The tree though solid & planted there
Allowed not for his little dances!
 
The tree fell sideways with a *thunk*
A commotion soon ensued
The household ran to see the mess
With Snow looking bemused.
 
No longer dazed after a bit,
Snow began to dance.
His excitement woke Garnet
Who then began to prance.
 
She found the gap that Snow had made
Then both ran through the tree
While their owners sought to catch them
They chuckled back with glee
 
After several minutes of laughter
And some exasperation!
Snow and Garnet were gently placed
Back in incarceration
 
Snow dug the door again as they
Tied it down - how pokey!
After minutes he climbed tiredly
Into bed with Loki.
 
Their humans smiled faintly down
Grinning at the ferrets,
Saying "If they weren't lovable and fun,
We've no idea how we'd bear it!"
