I also have an older kit with the same problem.  We found out it turned out
to be her eyelashes on her upper left eyelid.  They are on the bottom half
of the lid and are getting into her eyes when she blinks.  The Vet has
suggested surgery to save her eye sight.  Just a thought, something we
didn't really notice for awhile)
