I can just picture it now...six Fuzzbutt Rodeo Clowns getting into their
camouflage outfits (OK, so they just roll in the dirt and spray some Jovan
Musk for Mustalids on themselves), get their little rubber band sling shots
and head out to the countryside to go deer hunting. The air is crisp and
clear, though very cold. Misti-Ferret (the smallest of the bunch)
shivers...as much from excitement as from the chill in the air. This is
her first deer hunt! :) Fuzzer and Silver (the two hulksters) take the
lead, sniffing everything in site. Of course, with all of this sniffing
going on, it takes FOREVER to move forward even a foot!

It is not late morning and the group has finally reached the other side of
the field (which is only about 50 yards across...but it had such WONDERFUL
smells!) and they suddenly spot a deer! Fuzzer and Silver quickly plan the
attack, then outline their strategy to the others. Everyone then gets in a
rather large circle and to the Deer Hunting War Dance of the Weasels! All
of the deer within five miles hears the ruckus and race away for parts
unknown. The fuzzie realize the deer are gone and start sniffing things
again.

It's not mid-afternoon and the deer have returned. This time, the War
Dancing is kept to a minimum to reduce the noise level. All of the smaller
fuzzies climb up in a nearby bush, while Silver and Fuzzer stand in the
middle of the deer path. A medium-sized deer (about 150 pounds) cautiously
approaches the pair. As it stares at the rather brave team, the other four
suddenly launch themselves out of the bush, onto the deer's back. In a fit
of pure surprise, the deer trips and drops to it's front knees.
Immediately, Fuzzer and Silver jump on it's head and run down to it's back.
Each fuzzie grabs a mouthful of skin as the deer regains it's feet and
begins bounding through the woods, trying to get this bunch off of it's
back.

After this has gone on for quite some time (at least 10 minutes!), the
fuzzies decide that they've had enough fun and they each let go. The all
tumble and crash into the nearby brush and the deer streaks away like a
bolt of brown and tan lightning. The fuzzies roll around in the brush and
leaves for a few minutes (listen to all that noise from these leaves!),
then they all stop and look in the direction that the deer took off in.
They all look at each other and do their little ferret smile. They took
down a deer! :):):)

The above story was brought to you by the wild imaginations of those silly
folx in California and anywhere else where ferrets are considered to be
DANGEROUS! Have you hugged YOUR fuzzie lately? :)

Todd and the (Quick...there's another deer...CHARGE!) Fuzzbutt Rodeo Clowns!
