I'm going to go ahead and post to the list.

Advantage, Frontline, and Program are for use on ADULT cats and dogs.
Since the ferret is so small, *I* probably wouldn't use it on them. I
suppose you could use a fraction of a cat's dose. It's fine to use for the
dog...the best thing about Advantage and Frontline is that once it becomes
systemic (about 48 hours after application) you can wash your dog/animal
and the treatment is still effective.

Program is a PILL. (Lufenuron) I most definitely wouldn't use it on
ferrets in the pill form. If you read on the inside of the package, there
is a dosage schedule for cats, which suggests a lufenuron suspension of a
certain volume per poundage. This may be useful, ask your vet if (s)he can
get the lufenuron suspension. If they won't eat it, you could always mix
it with Ferretone! We HAVE prescribed the smallest dog dosage for a large
cat, but you probably shouldn't give a ferret that much.

The disadvantage of Program is that it doesn't kill adult fleas. You'd
have to start giving the pill and also use a flea spray, or just wait for
the adults to die.

I'd recommend Mycodex All-In-One Spray. We've given it to some pretty
small kittens, and even one cat that was nursing, so it's relatively safe.
Just make sure that the spray gets all the way down to the skin.
