Just thought Id give a quick update on Ivy and Thistle.  They are adjusting
well in their new home here with me.  Ivy was descented last wed and treated
for ear mites.  Thistle was treated for ear mites and will be descented on
Monday.  I appreciate all the emails I received about descenting but
ultimately decided it needed to be done in order for me to keep them and
give them a good home with my other five.  Please respect my decission and
refrain from flaming me or telling me I have abused my babies.  I do
APPRECIATE the varying info and support I received from fellow ferret
lovers.  The socialization process is going slow but hopefully with time
these two will integrate with the others in a bit more friendly manner.
 
On to my next question..Jaz..my beautiful two year old (and she is
gorgeous.. incredible coloring) is experiencing some weird hair loss.  The
past week or so she has been shedding like crazy and her normally thick fur
thinned out.  Now there is a large area on the back that is missing hair..
minus very little and course hair and her skin seem s a bit dry.  Actually
all of her fur seems course and dry.  I am concerned as to if this is stress
with the two new babies or if it is just shedding.  I have never seen
anything else like this.  SHe is perfectly healthy in all other ways..  we
were at the vet 2 months ago.  No swollen vulva, loss of appetite etc.  I
feed my babies totally ferret and a high quality kitten food in a 2:1 ratio.
Help...I am worried about her...what can I do.
