First off before I get to the questions, I want to say to Yvonne..about
being pregnant and the risk of toxoplasmosis from ferrets.....my Dr. when I
was pregnant said to be careful since the ferrets are fed the same diet as
cats, but wasn't sure other than that about the risk. But go with it! I
convinced hubby and for about 10 months I never had to change the litter
box once! :-)

On to my question: Lymphosarcoma cancer. Is it contageous? Can it be
transferred from cat to ferret? My friend just called me up to let me know
that her cat has lymphosarcoma, and has huge swellings around her throat.
Since my kitten has been around her cats, she was worried for him that he
has been exposed and may develope it. My worry: The ferrets! Can they
"catch" something like this from my kitten, if indeed the kitten contracted
it? How dangerous is this risk, if at all? I've never heard of a cancer
being contageous, but since losing Donnie to this very disease only a
couple of months ago, I am frantic! I have 3 new babies arriving in a
couple of days, and I really need answers quick!

Please email me directly for a faster response, I don't know if I'll be
able to sleep until I know that my babies are safe. Ok, so I am worried
about the cat too, but he seems fine, so I am basically just worried that
he may be a carrier. PLEASE SOMEONE PUT MY MIND AT EASE!!

And a note about the excessive ferret pictures: I have a full frame of
individual ferret pictures on my wall....I have yet to put the pictures up
of my daughter....or the wedding pictures.....or vacation pictures, except
those that involved the ferts of course! :-)

Dooks, and hug the fuzzbutts
