Hello everyone,
Hopefully you have an idea how the candidates stand in your district on
ferret legalization. If not, contact their respective campaign offices and
ask! Check the candidate section (excellent job) in the Ferrets Anonymous
newsletter for responses. Remember, if a candidate didn't respond this
year but voted for last year it probably means that they will support
legalization again next year.
As for the governor's race, well, the victor seems clear but his position
is not. Only the Libertarian party candidate came out in support of
legalization.
There are two propositions on the ballot that deserve your special
attention. The following information is from Paw Pac. I hope that, as
animal lovers, you will support them both.
Proposition 4. Trapping and Poisons. Support. Bans fur trapping, the
steel jawed trap, selling pelts, and Compound 1080 and sodium cyanide
poisons. Sponsored by ProPAW, a coalition which includes The Fund for
Animals. For information, contact ProPAW: 310/441-4499.
Fax: 310/441-4599. Web site: www.volunteerinfo.org/propaw
Proposition 6. Horse Slaughter. Support. Bans the slaughter of horses
and sale of horse meat for human consumption. For information, contact
Save the Horses: 818/771-0702. Fax: 818/768-7744.

Please vote Tuesday! If you want a voice in the destiny of ferret
legalization, here is your chance.
