The Midwest cage I have (the cat playpen model) has two doors, both of
which close in the same way: the door/ramp is hinged at the bottom and
swings upwards to close. A horizontal metal piece slides upwards to allow
the door/ramp to pass beneath it, then slides downwards to hold the door in
place.
My questions are: Is this closure sufficiently ferret-proof? Has anyone
had escapes from talented Houdini-ferrets? If added locking security is
needed, what do other people use? Would a spring-type lock such as the
sort that attaches a leash to a collar be sufficient?
Thanks to everyone for putting up with my dumb questions!
