Ok, I haven't posted in a while..just been lurking but I have some
questions. My ferret Furlow wont eat any of the treats everyone else says
theirs likes. He wont eat peanut butter, bananas, raisins, any kind of
meat cooked or raw, or any other human food I ever tried to give him. He
does love Ferretone though. I was just wondering if this is normal. Has
anyone else had this problem and found a way to get them to eat something
else. I know this isn't really a problem but i would like to be able to
give him some other kind of treats. Also does anyone know of a inexpensive
litter that would be safe to use. I am using normal cat litter right now
but I know that isn%27t good. My parents wont buy him all the expensive
brands(we are really low on money and don't have a house of our own yet)
and since I don%27t have a job yet do to a really hard school schedule (I
am trying to graduate early) I cant afford to buy him the expensive
brands... also the town i live in doesn't have much of a pet store choice.
It only has one privately owned pet store that does have a lot of ferret
toys sometimes but not much on supplies.
Ok now for a story. Have any of you seen a ferret go running through your
room with a baby pacifier in his mouth? I have a pacifier (yes I know 16
is a little old, but it was more of a fashion with my friends, like a
friendship thing) and Furlow loves to suck and chew on it. I try to keep
it out of his reach because I don't want him to swallow any little pieces
but he will go anywhere to get ahold of it. He will crawl in any drawer,
he crawls into my purse, he'll do anything to get ahold of it. THen I see
him put it in his mouth just like a baby would and dart off across the room
under the bed and lay there sucking on it. It looks very funny!! If you
can get a mental picture of a ferret running around with his binkie I can
guarantee a laugh for you.
Thanks everyone and my thoughts and sympathy for all the sick fuzzies and
for their owners and for those who have recently lost one of their babies.
Happy days for all I hope.
Jennifer
