If the new ferrets are carrying ECE, they could probably transmit it up to
six months or more.  Is your friend ready for that kind of quarantine?   A
half-hearted quarantine won't cut it if she wants to be absolutely sure they
don't transmit anything to their ferret.
 
Since most people aren't going to go to those extremes, just have the
littles ones checked out by the vet for the usual parasites, ear mites,
etc., and if they get a clean bill of health, let 'em romp together.
