Hey, everybody!

Socks & Kit got their inoculations Saturday, and have been fine since. Our
vet here gives shots that have a little of everything in them, including the
parvo, so now I know we've got the little critters protected. The vet we
have practiced in Chicago for a while, and is also a wild life
rehabilitator. He told me that when he saw Socks the last time, he didn't
think we'd pull him through. I told him, he got even worse after he'd seen
him! Checked him over and said he was doing great now.

Larry & I went to a pet store today and got the cats & the ferrets their
supplies. While in the cat section, Larry spotted a toy he thought Kit
would love. It was a plastic rod that had a small chain on it. Attached
to this was a long piece of flannel (there was something from the chain to
the flannel, too). Well, we bought it and brought it home. The flannel,
on the end, had two little eyes, the kind that move around, and I
immediately took them off.

Sara was playing with Kit and the pole while I cleaned the fuzzie area,
bedding, etc. All of a sudden she said, Mom--this thing just broke! The
chain was no longer attached. I swept the area immediately with the
sweeper, and we got down on hands and knees and combed the room. So far
as I know, hopefully the "flower" type metal attachment for the chain now
resides in the sweeper, and nowhere near the ferret's area. I immediately
returned it to the store, went back and looked at the others to double
check what we were looking for. Larry and I then checked the room again,
and we can't find a thing. I don't think Socks would bother it if he found
it, and I pray if its still in there Kit leaves it alone, too. The family
thinks I got it though, but now I'm on the "ferret pan" watch to make sure
everything from the two is going normal! Sheesh!

To the Janners: I couldn't see the screen when I read about Tinder. Our
condolences to you and all whose babies have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Bob C: TAKE CARE! Cars have no respect for anyone, and besides, you should
never let a ferret drive, didn't you know that?

For the inquiry about the ferret litter: I had something (which at this
moment the name of it alludes me), that was like a fiber type stuff.
Looked like ripped up gray egg cartons, but wasn't. I got it for Kit to
dig in, but then was afraid in her joy she'd eat it. Wound up using it as
litter, and it does quite nicely. Comes in a clear and green plastic bag.
You'll find it in the ferret section of the pet store, bedding area.

Phyllis: Hang in there. You left your babies in good hands, and no one
should get on you for it.

One last thing. Brandy: Lighten up! Of course no one here eats
ferrets!!!!!!! Gads, get a sense of humor here, girl. Sit down, read 'em
over again, and you'll see the jokes and leg pulling going on. I'm quite
sure if someone went to the Outback steak house and asked if "chook" was
ferret, they'd probably be asked to leave!
